Be My Guest: vanessa of nifty thrifty things

Hi friends, I'm still away but you will love today's guest. I'm so thrilled to have Vanessa of {nifty thrifty things} here as my final guest. I love Vanessa's style, her projects and beautiful photography. Here's how Vanessa describes herself and {nifty thrifty things}: I love decorating, designing and most of all, being thrifty. I started this little space on the web to blog about things I like, things I love and things I convert into things I like and love. Always trying to stay on the thrifty side. Being frugal on my spending has always been part of me and I believe that you don’t have to spend a fortune to make your home comfortable and cozy. Currently I live in northern Germany. This is where I’m from and where I grew up. From 2008–2010 I lived in Texas though, where I met my best friend and now husband. Eventually we’re planning on making Texas our home and settle down. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Hi everyone! My name is Vanessa and you can usually find me blogging over @ {nifty thrifty things}. I'm super excited to be here at Carolyn's blog today and to share one of my favorite tutorials from my blog with you: {DIY Fabric Tape} I'm in love with all kinds of decorative tape. After trying the DIY version of washi tape, I also tried my hands on fabric tape. I love that you can use up scrap fabric and make the tape in any pattern you can find fabric in. What you'll need: Strips of fabric Strong double-sided tape Scissors Paper clips How to: Apply the tape to the wrong side of your fabric scraps. (Leave the backing on until you're ready to use the fabric tape) Cut the fabric around the double sided tape. Cut strips to desired width. Roll up the fabric tape strips and secure with a paper clip to keep it from unrolling.

DIY Fabric Tape Pumpkins

It all started when I was attempting to organize my craft room. I quickly became distracted {as I often do when trying to get organized} by my collection of fabric tape, and specifically a brown plaid style that I previously ignored. The pattern had come in a 3 pack from Michael’s a while ago, but I originally bought the pack for another pattern, but now the brown plaid was calling my name. So I decided to use some to decorate a few DIY pumpkins. The color and pattern are so perfect…
